Leaders urge PM Oli to upgrade Tarigaun Airport and enhance infrastructure in Dang



KATHMANDU: Political leaders, lawmakers, local representatives, and private sector leaders from Dang district have appealed to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to prioritize the upgrade of Tarigaun Airport and the development of economic and physical infrastructure in the region.

During a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure improvements to boost the district’s connectivity and economic growth.

The delegation included CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, federal lawmakers Deepak Giri and Menaka Pokhrel, UML Central Committee member Ghanshyam Pandey, Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Tikaram Khadka, and Deputy Mayor Syani Chaudhary, among others.

In response, Prime Minister Oli assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns.

He emphasized that adequate attention would be given to upgrading Tarigaun Airport and expanding the Lamahi-Ghorahi-Tulsipur roadway, recognizing their importance for the region’s development.

The proposed upgrades to Tarigaun Airport are expected to improve air connectivity, facilitate tourism, and enhance economic activities in Dang district and surrounding areas.

Similarly, the expansion of the Lamahi-Ghorahi-Tulsipur road is anticipated to ease transportation, promote trade, and improve access to essential services for local communities.

The leaders expressed optimism following the meeting, stating that these infrastructure developments would significantly contribute to the overall progress and prosperity of Dang district.
