Hooliganism in universities unacceptable, says Education Minister Bhattarai

BHARATPUR: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, has stated that hooliganism in universities will not be tolerated and will receive no political protection.

Speaking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport this morning, Minister Bhattarai emphasized the need to curb violent activities within academic institutions.

She noted that security measures were requested from the Home Minister to address the recent disturbances at Tribhuvan University.

The minister stressed that the incident at TU was not about politics but rather a disruptive ruckus.

Minister Bhattarai further asserted that destructive activities and the criminalization of universities are unacceptable.

“Gangsters and thugs must be dealt with, and their activities should not be shielded by political protection,” she added.
