Non-life insurance companies earn Rs 36 billion in 11 months



KATHMANDU: Non-life insurance companies in Nepal have reported earnings of Rs 36.56 billion over the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, according to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority.

This figure represents the combined income of 18 non-life insurance companies.

The earnings have increased compared to the same period last fiscal year when 25,17,315 policies were issued, amounting to Rs 34.16 billion.

In the month of Jestha (May 14-June 14) alone, non-life insurance companies earned NPR 3.50 billion and issued 225,344 policies.

Over the 11 months, a total of 2,713,071 policies were issued.

Karnali province sees lowest number of policies issued

The data indicates that Karnali province issued the fewest insurance policies, with 56,058, while Bagmati province issued the highest number, with 1,164,219 policies.

Other provinces reported the following numbers of issued policies:

Koshi: 345,380

Madhes: 293,268

Gandaki: 274,438

Lumbini: 440,462

Sudurpashchim: 139,346
