KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order halting the disciplinary action against suspended Gandaki Province lawmaker Phanindra Devkota.

In response to Devkota’s petition challenging the disciplinary action taken against him by the CPN-Maoist Center’s Gandaki Province parliamentary party, SC ruled in his favor.

Justice Prakashman Singh Raut’s bench issued the interim order to suspend the Maoist party’s disciplinary action against Devkota.

The court also issued a show-cause order to the opposition.
