NC to opt out of today’s Gandaki Province Assembly meeting

GANDAKI: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to opt out of the scheduled Gandaki Province Assembly meeting today.

The decision to this effect was made at the NC’s parliamentary party meeting held on Thursday.

The Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party of Gandaki Province issued a statement, affirming their abstention from the provincial assembly gathering and any support for the provincial government’s initiatives until the Supreme Court concludes the final hearing of a writ filed against the announcement of the Chief Minister.

The NC’s petition challenges the constitutionality of the process that declared Khagraj Adhikari as Chief Minister, asserting that he obtained majority votes unconstitutionally during the vote of confidence.
