These are eight agreements reached between Nepal and Qatar



KATHMANDU: Nepal and Qatar solidified their bilateral relations by signing a series of eight agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Wednesday, during the state visit of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.

The agreements were reached following extensive bilateral talks between Emir Al Thani and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, with delegations from both nations present to witness the historic occasion.

Concluding his two-day state visit to Nepal, Emir Al Thani departed for home this afternoon, leaving behind a strengthened foundation for cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.

The list of agreements and MoUs finalized between Nepal and Qatar includes:

  • Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the Fields of Culture and Arts between the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal and the Ministry of Culture of the State of Qatar
  • Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange of News between National News Agency, Nepal (RSS) and Qatar News Agency (QNA)
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Cooperation in the Field of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the State of Qatar
  • Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Youth and Sports between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the State of Qatar
  • Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation between the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal and the Public Prosecution of the State of Qatar
  • Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Diplomatic Training and Education between The Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) of the Government of Nepal and The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar
  • Agreement on the establishment of Joint Business Council (JBC) between Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI)
  • Renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI)

These agreements signify a deepening of cooperation and collaboration across various sectors, paving the way for enhanced bilateral relations between Nepal and Qatar.
