Nepal and Qatar engage in bilateral talks



KATHMANDU: Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held bilateral talks on Wednesday, with delegations from both nations present.

The Qatar Emir’s visit to Nepal, initiated at the invitation of President Ram Chandra Paudel, began with a courtesy call on President Paudel on Tuesday.

Earlier today, Emir Al Thani engaged in a one-on-one meeting with PM Dahal at Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu.

Discussions revolved around various topics of mutual interest, including the signing of a new labor agreement between Nepal and Qatar.

Qatar serves as a significant destination for Nepali migrant workers, with approximately 370,000 Nepalis currently employed in Qatar.

Later this afternoon, Prime Minister Dahal is set to host a lunch for Emir Al Thani at Hotel Dwarika, providing an opportunity for further dialogue and strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Qatar.
