Three children missing in Sun Koshi River after Holi celebration

KATHMANDU: Three children have been reported missing after they were swept away by the Sun Koshi River while taking bath in the river after Holi celebration on Sunday.

According to District Police Office, Udayapur’s SP Ramesh Thapa, the missing children have been identified as 8-year-old Choklachandra Magar, 7-year-old Ridam Magar, and 11-year-old Rekha Magar of Triyuga Municipality-14.

They were swept away from Dhaplang, a place within Triyuga Municipality-14, after expressing their desire to play in the river following the Holi celebrations.

A search operation has been initiated for the missing children, with the assistance of the armed police force.

Meanwhile, the other four children who accompanied them have safely returned home.
