DOTI: Yet another woman has tragically lost her life due to severe injuries sustained from the collapse of a mud wall while gathering mud for house plastering ahead of the New Year.

DSP Nishant Shrivastava, the Information Officer of the District Police Office in Doti, confirmed the demise of 60-year-old Bhagawati Ojha from Adarsha Rural Municipality-2 as a result of the mud wall collapse during mud excavation.

In addition to Ojha, 50-year-old Parvati Khadka, who was also trapped under the mud, has been rescued and is currently receiving treatment at the District Hospital in Doti, informed Shrivastava.

Tragically, this incident follows the loss of another woman’s life last Saturday, 21-year-old Nirmala Rokaya from Shikhar Municipality-9, who also fell victim to a mud wall collapse while collecting mud.

Fortunately, three other women who were with Rokaya were successfully rescued.

With the New Year drawing near, local residents are increasingly resorting to the use of red and black soil for house plastering, heightening the risks associated with such activities.
