UML picks Suhang Nembang as candidate for Ilam-2 by-election



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML has announced Suhang Nembang as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in Ilam Constituency No. 2.

During the UML’s Secretariat meeting convened at the Central Office in Chyasal on Sunday, it was decided to nominate Suhang Nembang, the son of the late Speaker Subas Nembang, as the party’s candidate for the Ilam 2 constituency.

The by-election is slated to be held on April 27.

Following the passing of former Constituent Assembly Chairman Nembang, the UML decided to endorse his son to contest on behalf of the party.

Subas Nembang breathed his last on September 11, 2023.
