KATHMANDU: The CPN-ML has strongly condemned Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s efforts to deflect blame onto others regarding the allegations against himself.

In a press statement issued on after party’s Standing Committee meeting on Saturday, CPN-ML Chairman CP Mainali accused Home Minister Lamichhane of resorting to gimmicks to evade accountability for the accusations against him.

“It is deplorable that instead of addressing the serious allegations leveled against high-ranking individuals involved in gold smuggling, the current Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, is exploiting his authority to shield himself from scrutiny and accountability. This behavior is unacceptable,” Mainali stated.

The CPN-ML’s Permanent Committee meeting concluded that the actions of the Home Minister were merely superficial and lacked genuine intent.
