Three apprehended for baby abduction from Paropakar Hospital

KATHMANDU: In a recent development, authorities have detained three individuals implicated in the abduction of an infant from the Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital.

Man Kumari Singh, 24, hailing from Dailekh but presently residing in a rented accommodation in Kandaghari, Kathmandu, has been apprehended by the police.

Alongside Singh, her spouse and sister have also been placed under police custody pending further inquiry.

A joint operation conducted by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and the District Police Range, Kathmandu, successfully recovered the child and detained the suspects from Kandaghari at 11:45 pm on Friday night.

Initial investigations by the police indicate that the inability to conceive a child after a prolonged period of marriage might have served as the motive behind the abduction.

The child, who was taken to the Maternity Hospital on Friday for a routine follow-up examination, was reportedly abducted by Singh.

Following the distressed mother’s complaint to the authorities, prompt action led to the safe recovery of the infant.
