NEPSE up 28.91 points, finishes at 2,612.20



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a late surge on Monday, increasing by 28.91 points to close at 2,612.20, marking a 1.11 percent rise compared to Sunday.

A total of 194 companies saw their share prices rise, while 42 experienced a decline, and 8 remained unchanged.

The top gainers of the day were Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha and Super Madi Hydropower Limited, both of which saw a 10 percent increase. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited followed closely with a 9.99 percent increase, and Balphedi Hydropower Limited saw a 9.93 percent rise.

Among the sub-indices, all but one experienced gains.

Hydropower led the way with a 2.65 percent increase, followed by Manufacturing and Processing, which went up by 2.46 percent, and Finance, which saw a 1.67 percent rise.

The only sub-index to decline was Mutual Funds, which dropped by 4.21 percent.
