CIAA files corruption case against 8 individuals in Dhading



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court against eight individuals, including the former Chief Administrative Officer of Ruby Valley Rural Municipality in Dhading, Tanka Bahadur Negi, and Ward Chair Prashant Tamang.

The CIAA stated that the case was filed on Sunday following the discovery of irregularities in the construction of a trail from Pago village to a local school.

CIAA has demanded compensation of Rs 1,089,989 from Negi, engineer Sudip Regmi, accountant Babulal Negi, and assistant sub-engineer Lalman Tamang.

Additionally, imprisonment and fines have been sought against Ward Chai Tamang under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.

The case also implicates Ajay Lal Tamang, Chair of the Pago to School Construction Consumers Committee, along with secretary Sanjeev Tamang and treasurer Sanchamaya Tamang.

Compensation of Rs 1,089,989 has been demanded from the committee members as well, according to CIAA spokesperson Narahari Ghimire.
