PM Oli’s program to address Nepali community in New York canceled

NEW YORK: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli’s program to address the Nepali community in New York has been canceled.

The Nepali Consulate General in New York issued a notice stating that the cancellation was due to security concerns.

“Prime Minister KP Oli and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba are occupied with the United Nations General Assembly, future summits, and other sideline meetings,” a statement issued by Nepali Consulate General said.

Considering the advice from relevant agencies regarding the security sensitivity of the event venue, the major program scheduled for today has been postponed, it added.
