Five athletes nominated for People’s Choice Award

KATHMANDU: Five athletes from various sports have been nominated for the People’s Choice Award, which will be presented by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum.

The nominees include Nepali national cricket team member Gulshan Jha, national women’s volleyball player Kabita Bhatta, kabaddi player Manamati Bista, national football player Preeti Rai, and rugby player Shreeram Shrestha.

One of these five nominees will be awarded the People’s Choice Award.

Votes for the People’s Choice Award can be cast by sports journalists associated with the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, national coaches, and supporters via eSewa.

According to Durga Nath Subedi, Chairperson of the organizing Forum, votes cast through eSewa will carry 50% weight, votes cast via Facebook will carry 25% weight, and votes from the main coaches of the National Sports Associations under the Nepal Olympic Committee will account for 12%.

Members of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum will contribute 12.5% to the final tally.

The winner of this category will receive a Bajaj Pulsar NS 400 series motorcycle.
