Update: 14 feared dead in Ambukhaireni bus accident



KATHMANDU: In the bus accident in Ambukhaireni, Tanahun on Friday, 14 passengers are feared dead.

The incident involved an Indian bus, UP 53 FD 7623, which was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it plunged into the Marsyangdi River near Ainapahara in Ambukhaireni.

Kaski Police Chief SP Mohan Thapa stated that 16 injured individuals have been rescued so far.

The passengers were en route to Kathmandu early this morning after staying at Majheri Resort in Pokhara.

A police team has been dispatched to the resort to gather more details.

Rescue operations are currently ongoing.
