SC to continue hearing on Gandaki lawmaker Devkota’s case

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to continue the hearing on the petition filed by Phanindra Devkota, the suspended Member of Parliament from Gandaki Province.

The hearing, which was held in Justice Prakashman Singh Raut’s bench, could not be completed today and has been adjourned to the next session.

Devkota, who faced disciplinary measures from the CPN-Maoist Center for defying party directives in the provincial assembly, argues that the disciplinary action taken against him should be nullified, asserting his affiliation with the Nepal Samajbadi Party.

Devkota was elected using the Maoist Center’s election symbol.
