DHADING: A truck transporting chemicals, potentially used in drug manufacturing, erupted in flames earlier today.

The incident occurred on the Prithvi highway at Banchhetar, Gajuri rural municipality-6 in Dhading district.

The truck with registration number Na 4 Kha 8617 was en route from Sunauli, Rupandehi, to Kathmandu when the fire broke out suddenly.

Sushil BK, the truck driver, speculated that the fire might have been triggered by the collision of chemical canisters while the vehicle was in motion.

Following the incident, vehicular traffic has been halted on both ends of the highway.

Ganesh Lal Shrestha, Chairman of Gajuri rural municipality, informed that a fire engine from Dhunibesi municipality has been summoned to extinguish the blaze.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage caused by this hazardous incident.
