KATHMANDU: Seven houses were engulfed in flames in Birgunj this morning, according to reports from Kathmandu.

The incident occurred at Alau in Birgunj Metropolitan City-17.

The fire, believed to have been triggered by an electrical leakage in one of the houses, quickly spread to six neighboring houses, causing extensive damage.

Property worth Rs 5,390,000 was destroyed in the blaze, as confirmed by Ward Chairperson Rajib Bahadur Chhetri of Birgunj-17.

Authorities swiftly responded to the emergency, deploying two fire brigades to the scene.

DSP Kumar Bikram Thapa of District Police Office, Parsa, reported that the fire was brought under control.

With the dry season intensifying and temperatures rising across the nation, incidents of fires have surged in recent days.
