PM Dahal extends invitation to Nagarik Unmukti Party to join government



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has extended an invitation to the Nagarik Unmukti Party to join the government.

In a meeting held today, PM Dahal discussed the matter with Chairman Ranjita Shrestha and other leaders of the Nagarik Unmukti Party.

PM Dahal has proposed to allocate one ministerial portfolio to the party and urged them to join the government.

The meeting focused on the evolving political landscape at the central level, as well as the formation of the Sudurpaschim Provincial government and collaboration efforts for establishing a government in Lumbini Province.

Previously, the party had lent its support to PM Dahal to secure a vote of confidence in parliament.

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has expressed interest in claiming the position of Chief Minister in Sudurpaschim Province, where its support is vital for the Dahal-led government, if it is form a government there.

Currently, the party extends its support to the Nepali Congress-led government in Sudurpaschim Province, with five out of its seven lawmakers occupying ministerial positions.
