Rainfall expected to persist for three more days in several provinces of Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecasted the continuation of rainfall for three more days in the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces of Nepal.

The prevailing westerly low-pressure system, along with the low-pressure system located in Assam, India, and its surrounding areas, are currently influencing the weather in Nepal.

Meteorologist Govinda Jha stated that the weather across the country is expected to be partly to generally cloudy, with light rainfall and lightning occurring in a few places in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as one or two places in the Madhes Province.

“There is a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in a few places in the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces. Light rainfall is predicted in one or two places in the Bagmati Province,” mentioned Jha.

Additionally, light snowfall has been forecasted in one or two places in the high-hilly areas and mountain regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, which may affect normal life, tourism sectors, transport, and air services in these areas.
