Suspension notice for Rabi reaches Parliament

KATHMANDU: The Parliament has received a suspension notice for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair and federal MP Rabi Lamichhane.

According to Padma Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, the suspension notice was sent via email by the Kaski District Police Office and arrived on Sunday afternoon.

“We have received the email from the Kaski District Police Office,” Pandey stated, adding, “We will proceed with the matter as per legal procedures.”

The notice follows the registration of a money laundering case against Lamichhane at the Kaski District Court by the District Government Attorney’s Office, prompting the move to suspend him from his parliamentary role.
