One arrested for alleged involvement in tiger poaching



CHITWAN: A man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the poaching of a Bengal tiger.

The suspect, identified as Amrit Neupane, 20, from Binaya Triveni Rural Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), was detained for further investigation.

At a press conference today, the Chitwan National Park (CNP) revealed Neupane’s arrest.

CNP’s Chief Conservation Officer, Ganesh Pant, stated that the arrest was made as part of an ongoing investigation into the poaching incident.

Pant further disclosed that a photograph of a trapped tiger was found on Neupane’s mobile phone while recovering call details.

A case has been filed against Neupane under the National Park and Wildlife Conservation (Fifth Amendment) Act, 2029, in connection with tiger poaching.
