Ruling CPN-UML demonstrating in Kathmandu today



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML is set to demonstrate its strength in the capital on Friday.

The rally, named “Jagaran Sabha” (awareness assembly), will take place at Durbar Marg in Kathmandu at 12:30 PM.

A procession is scheduled to begin at Shaheed Gate at 11:30 AM, proceeding through Bir Hospital and Jamal to reach Durbar Marg.

Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, along with General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, are expected to address the gathering.

The UML has stated that this rally aims to counteract rumors about the party and its leadership, emphasizing their determination to showcase their support.

To ensure a strong turnout, the UML is mobilizing large groups from surrounding districts, including Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kathmandu.

Traffic disruptions are anticipated in the Kathmandu Valley due to the rally, especially as supporters of Durga Prasai are protesting in Koteshwor, and cooperative victims are also demonstrating at Maitighar on the same day.
