Tremor felt in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: An earthquake struck Kathmandu last night, according to the National Seismological Center.

A 2.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Kirtipur at 10:46 PM on Thursday.

Residents in various parts of Kathmandu reported feeling the tremors on social media.

Despite its relatively small magnitude, the tremors were noticeable in Kathmandu and surrounding districts due to the epicenter’s proximity.

Earlier that day, at 10:13 AM, another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 hit the Annapurna region, located on the border of Kaski and Manang.

The tremors felt in Kathmandu last night were notable, marking the first significant seismic activity in the area for some time.
