Maoist-affiliated students burn effigy of PM Oli in protest (In pics)

KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist-affiliated student wing, All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) or ANNISU (R), burned an effigy of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening.

The students held a torch rally as part of their ongoing protest against the government.

The protest, organized in front of Tri-Chandra Campus, was aimed at criticizing the government’s handling of disaster management, including delays in rescue, relief, and reconstruction efforts.

Police intervened and extinguished the effigy during the demonstration.
