Team competing in the Third Taolu World Cup seen off



HETAUDA: Nepal is participating in the 2024 Taolu World Cup, a Wushu competition to be held in Yokohama of Tokyo, Japan on October 23-28.

Bagamati Province Minister for Youth and Sports, Min Krishna Maharjan, bade farewell to the team participating in the event amidst a programme here today.

On this occasion, the Minister pledges support for the development of Wushu in the Province.

He also applauded the role of Wushu players in promoting the country’s image internationally.

The team comprises Deepak Hamal, Bijay Sinjali, Nima Gharti Magar, Pasang Sherpa and Rajib Tamang.

The team is led by Nepal Wushu Federation’s general secretary Lhakpa Chhring Lama and coached by Nikesh Shrestha.

The team was qualified to participate in the third Taolu through the 16th World Wushu Championships 2023 and the Wushu International Invitation Tournament held in China in April.

As Lama said, through the Invitation Tournament, only Nepal is selected for participation in the third edition of the Wushu World Cup among from the Asian nations.
