PM Oli assures full collection of NEA dues without disrupting power supply

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that the arrears from the Nepal Electricity Authority’s dedicated feeders and trunk lines will be collected in full.

In response to questions from MPs during today’s House of Representatives meeting, PM Oli stated that the government intends to collect these dues without cutting off power supplies to industries.

“The government is committed to collecting the arrears without disrupting power to any operations,” he said.

He also addressed concerns about discrepancies between the government and NEA leadership, refuting social media claims suggesting that the NEA is trying to collect tariffs while the government is offering exemptions.

Additionally, Prime Minister Oli announced plans to implement a system for expedited responses within three days for files requiring decisions in any ministry.

He also mentioned the commencement of linking national identity cards and driver’s licenses to the citizen app.
