Binod Chaudhary dubs Lamichhane’s speech “misleading”

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker and businessman Binod Chaudhary has expressed concern over remarks made by Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Rabi Lamichhane during Sunday’s House of Representatives session.

In a statement on social media on Monday, Chaudhary said, “A lawmaker delivered a carefully planned yet misleading speech, clearly aimed at misleading the public by targeting me.”

“I strongly disagree with these assertions. The manner in which someone with a controversial past and ongoing state investigation expressed dissatisfaction in a dignified setting like Parliament can only be seen as political grandstanding,” Chaudhary emphasized.

Chaudhary further claimed that Sunday’s remarks were part of a continuing strategy to exert undue pressure on law enforcement, seemingly in retaliation against him.

“It is unfortunate that Prime Minister KP Oli’s recent event at his Balkot residence, held to celebrate International Music Day, was improperly politicized,” Chaudhary remarked.

He also urged lawmakers to refrain from using Parliament as a platform for personal grievances and malicious attacks.
