Dhanusha District Court grants three-day-remand against KMG Chair Sirohiya

DHANUSHA: The District Court Dhanusha has granted police the permission to remand Kailash Sirohiya in custody for three days to conduct further investigation.

According to Sudeep Dangal, Chief of the District Attorney’s Office in Dhanusha, the police sought the five-day remand after recording Sirohiya’s statement.

Sirohiya was arrested at the Thapathali office of Kantipur Media Group on Tuesday.

The arrest followed the Dhanusha District Court’s decision to grant permission for an arrest warrant in connection with a dual citizenship issue.

The warrant was issued amid allegations that Sirohiya submitted fraudulent citizenship documents to multiple institutions.

Reports indicate that two citizenship certificates bearing the same number but with different details have surfaced, raising suspicions of identity fraud.

A complaint lodged at the Dhanusha District Police Office implicated Sirohiya in acquiring citizenship through deceptive means.

He is currently being held in custody at the District Police Office in Dhanusha.
