SC seeks Koshi province Chief’s Order regarding Chief Minister appointment

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has requested a copy of the order issued by Koshi Province Chief Parashuram Khapung regarding the appointment of CPN-UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki as Chief Minister.

On Wednesday, a division bench of Supreme Court justices Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the order to obtain the Province Chief’s decision on the appointment of Karki as Chief Minister of Koshi.

Former Chief Minister and Nepali Congress lawmaker Kedar Karki filed a writ petition on May 10 in the Supreme Court, seeking the removal of Chief Minister Karki.
