Kami Rita Sherpa summits Mt. Everest for 30th time

KATHMANDU: Kami Rita Sherpa has achieved a remarkable feat by scaling Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, for the 30th time, breaking his own previous record.

Sherpa successfully reached the summit at 7:49 am on Wednesday morning.

Earlier this season, Sherpa had summited Mt. Everest for the 29th time on Baisakh 30.

This latest ascent cements his status as the only person to have climbed the highest peak 30 times.

Sherpa, 54, originally from Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality in the Solukhumbu district, first scaled Mt. Everest on May 13, 1994.

His extraordinary achievements have made him a legendary figure in mountaineering.
