Govt announces public holiday tomorrow



KATHMANDU: The government has given a public holiday on Tuesday, tomorrow, on the occasion of the State Visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to Nepal.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma said a meeting of the Council of Ministers convened at Singha Durbar today decided to give a public holiday tomorrow on the occasion of the Qatari Amir’s state visit to Nepal beginning tomorrow.

The Cabinet meeting decided to submit to President Ramchandra Paudel for issuing the ordinance designed to make amendments to the Some Nepal Acts Related to Facilitation of Investment.

Minister Sharma also shared that the meeting decided to make amendments to the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Regulations paving the way for co-financing of three levels in the retrofitting, rehabilitation and reconstruction of private houses damaged by and at risk of disaster.

The meeting transferred Madhu Kumar Marasini as the Finance Secretary and the Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Puskar to the Prime Minister’s Office.
