NC withdraws support from Madhes govt

JANAKPUR: The Nepali Congress (NC) has announced the withdrawal of its support from the government of Madhes province.

In a letter addressed to the provincial chief on Friday, the NC stated that it is retracting its support from the government.

Krishna Prasad Yadav, the leader of the NC parliamentary party, articulated in the letter submitted to the provincial chief, “In accordance with the provisions outlined in Article 168 of the Constitution regarding the appointment of the provincial chief minister, the Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Madhes has resolved to withdraw the support extended to Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav.”

Following a recent restructuring at the federal level, Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav dismissed three NC-affiliated ministers from the cabinet last Monday.

Subsequently, Chief Minister Yadav appointed Saroj Kumar Yadav, the parliamentary party leader of the CPN-UML, to his cabinet on the same day after removing the NC ministers.
