Weather: High-hills and mountain areas witness snowfall



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence from the western low-pressure system and local wind patterns.

The Weather Forecasting Division has reported mostly clear weather in the hilly regions of the country, encompassing Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

In some parts of the hilly areas of the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, scattered to light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is observed.

Additionally, light snowfall is reported in a few locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the mentioned provinces.

During the afternoon, skies are expected to be partly to mostly cloudy.

There’s a chance of scattered to light rain with thunder and lightning in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as a few hilly areas across the country.

Furthermore, light snowfall may occur in some high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Nighttime forecasts suggest partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions in hilly regions, extending similarly across the rest of the country.

There’s a possibility of scattered to light rain with thunder and lightning in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Light snowfall might also happen in a few places within the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Given the weather conditions, there’s a likelihood of scattered to light rains with thunder and lightning in the hilly areas, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Moreover, light snowfall might affect high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Consequently, sectors like health, tourism, mountain climbing, road, and air traffic are expected to face partial disruptions.

The Weather Forecasting Division has urged individuals to take necessary precautions.
