President Paudel: Unity amongst castes, religions, and linguistic communities is key goal of republic



ACHHAM: President Ramchandra Paudel remarked that Nepal, as a repository of eastern knowledge traditions, embodies unity and solidarity among diverse cultures and civilizations.

Inaugurating the Mahakumbha and Kotihom Mahayagya at Baidhanath Dham in Achham district, the President emphasized that fostering harmony and unity among different castes, religions, and ethnic communities remains the primary objective of the federal democratic republic.

He highlighted the constitution’s provisions for safeguarding all religions and cultures.

President Paudel expressed hope that the commencement of the Kotihom festival would inspire individuals to uphold the principles of the federal democratic republic.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of translating the state’s social and cultural objectives into action by promoting social harmony, solidarity, and cultural assimilation while honoring cultural diversity and nurturing a thriving and civilized culture.

The President also lauded the reconstruction efforts of a temple through government and public collaboration under the Baidhanath Area Development Organization, aimed at the region’s development, protection, and promotion.

During the event, President Paudel underscored the necessity of developing infrastructure through comprehensive master planning for the overall development of the area.

He suggested integrating religious and historical sites into national budgets and policies to boost tourism potential and contribute to nation-building efforts.

In his address, the President urged stakeholders to further unlock the tourism potential of such sites.

Additionally, President Paudel expressed his joy at visiting the sacred site, which houses temples of deities and serves as a place of penance for sages.
