HoR meeting adjourned as quorum not attained

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) of the Federal Parliament concluded its session today after failing to achieve the required quorum, resulting in the removal of agenda items scheduled for the day.

During the meeting, Information and Communication Minister Rekha Sharma proposed the consideration of the ‘Second Amendment Bill, 2080 on Political Parties.’

However, when Speaker Devraj Ghimire was set to present the proposal for decision, CPN-UML MP Mahesh Bartaula raised an objection, citing insufficient quorum.

In response to MP Bartaula’s objection, Speaker Ghimire directed an increase in the number of members present in the meeting.

The meeting was ultimately adjourned when only 65 out of the required 69 members were present, preventing the presentation and consideration of the proposed bill.
