Nepal Police Club reclaims top spot with fourth consecutive win; Lalit takes 5 wickets

BHAIRAHAWA: In a continuous streak of victories in the Prime Minister’s Cup National Cricket Tournament, Nepal Police Club has secured the top spot in the points table.

In today’s match held in Bhairahawa, the unbeaten Police Club defeated APF Club by 58 runs.

Chasing a target of 146 runs for victory, APF struggled and was bowled out for 87 runs in 34 overs.

Despite Sandeep Jora taking 7 wickets for 40 runs, he didn’t find support from the batting side. Amar Rautela got out for 23 runs. Together, Rautela and Jora shared a 43-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

In a stellar bowling performance, Lalit Rajbanshi claimed 5 wickets against APF. Bowling for 8 overs, he maintained an economy rate of 4 and conceded only 8 runs. Rashid Khan took 2 wickets, and Sagar Dhakal took 1.

Before this, in their first innings, Police were all out for 145 runs in 41 overs.

For Police, opener Dilip Nath contributed the highest with 44 runs, while Arjun Saud scored 31 runs.

Bhuwan Karki of APF took 3 wickets, while Ramesh Kurmi and Amar Rautela took 2 wickets each.
