Homeowner murdered and robbed in Mahottari



KATHMANDU: A group of armed robbers killed a 70-year-old homeowner and looted valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in Sada village, Manara Siswa Municipality, early this morning.

DSP Santulal Prasad Jaiswar, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Mahottari, stated that the robbers entered the house of Sushil Jha at around 4 am.

The masked group, numbering seven to eight, attacked and killed Jha before looting Rs 80,000 in cash, a gold mangalsutra, and a gold ring.

Jha’s wife, who was also in the house during the attack, sustained minor injuries.

Police have reached the scene and are conducting an investigation to determine if additional items were stolen.

The body of the deceased remains at the site as authorities continue their inquiry.
