PM directs officials to change work approach and show results in the next meeting

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged government officials to deliver tangible results that the public can feel, rather than getting stuck in meetings, discussions, and administrative processes.

During a review meeting in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, focusing on progress and development challenges across ministries, PM Oli stressed the need for a shift in mindset and working style.

He called on officials to work with commitment, transparency, and a clear focus on national development.

Stressing the importance of good governance, controlling revenue leakage, poverty alleviation, enhancing Nepal’s international image, and maximizing resource utilization, he directed officials to ensure noticeable change.

“Start making changes from tomorrow. Justify the purpose of these meetings. In the next meeting, present the progress made. If any law obstructs governance or development, the government is ready to amend it quickly,” Oli stated. “All our efforts must focus on increasing production, utilizing resources scientifically, and accelerating development through the use of information and technology.”

The meeting included key government figures, such as the PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Economic Affairs Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Vice-Chair of the National Planning Commission Dr. Shivraj Adhikari, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and various secretaries and departmental heads.
