Prime Minister Oli’s visit to China expected to further strengthen bilateral ties

KATHMANDU: A bilateral meeting was held between the leaders of the CPN (UML) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing on Wednesday.

Deepak Gyawali, a member of the UML publicity department, who is in the visiting team, informed that the leaders expressed their hope that the upcoming visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to China will further enhance the mutual relations and cooperation between the two neighbours.

On the occasion, UML senior vice chair Ishwar Pokharel expressed his belief that the visit of the UML Chair and Prime Minister Oli will make the relationship between the two countries further stronger and closer.

He expressed that the PM’s upcoming visit to China will prove to be a milestone in the implementation of the previous agreements between Nepal and China, in preparing a solid plan and in moving forward to take the historical relationship between the two countries to a higher level.

CPC Foreign Affairs Department Head Liu Jianchao mentioned that the Chinese and Nepali people have great expectations from Prime Minister Oli’s upcoming visit to China, stating the Chinese side is eager to welcome Prime Minister Oli.

He emphasized that the historical relationship between Nepal and China should be utilized to the maximum to the path of development and prosperity, but the attention of both countries should be taken into consideration for the same.

Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Sun Haiyan, said that the Chinese side is ready to provide all possible support for the development and prosperity of Nepal, a friendly neighbouring country.

A 15-member delegation led by Pokharel is currently visiting China at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Chinese Communist Party.
