NEPSE plummets to 2639 points

KATHMANDU: The stock market index NEPSE on Monday dropped by 57.99 points, settling at 2639.

This decline was accompanied by a decrease in turnover, which fell from 8.18 billion the previous day to 5.90 billion today.

Out of 245 listed companies, 23 saw their values increase, while 221 experienced declines.

All sectors recorded losses, with Finance taking the hardest hit at 3.38%.

Other sector declines included Banking at 2.30%, Development Bank at 1.78%, Hotel & Tourism at 1.66%, Hydropower at 2.05%, Investment at 2.51%, Life Insurance at 2.15%, Manufacturing at 1.65%, Microfinance at 1.89%, Non-Life Insurance at 1.76%, other sectors at 2.34%, and the Business group at 0.28%.

In terms of turnover, Himalayan Reinsurance, Ngadi Group, Kumari Bank, Goodwill Finance, and Nepal Finance led the way.
