Nepalgunj to organize cultural festival

BANKE: A cultural festival is being organized in Nepalgunj to protect and promote the traditional arts, cultures and costumes of indigenous nationalities.

The District Coordination Council of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities is preparing to organize the festival in the city of Nepalgunj from November 14 to December 3.

Dambar Bahadur Thapa Magar, Chairman of the District Coordination Council of the Federation said that the festival is aimed at promoting and publicizing the arts and cultures of the ethnic communities.

During the event, stalls showcasing the arts, cultures, cuisines, traditional costumes, agricultural products, handicrafts and other goods would be kept representing all 12 districts of the Lumbini Province, Chairman Thapa Magar said.

The organizer has expected the participation of some 300,000 visitors in the festival and a business turnover of Rs. 50 million.

Different sub-committees have also been formed for the successful completion of the festival, Thapa Magar added.
