Westerly winds influencing Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the influence of westerly winds is currently affecting the country, alongside a partial impact from local winds.

At present, the weather is partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, including Lumbini and Madhesh provinces.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is occurring in isolated areas of Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, including Lumbini Province, while the rest of the country will also experience similar weather patterns.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in isolated locations in the hilly areas, including Lumbini Province.

Additionally, light snowfall may occur in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas.

Tonight, the weather is forecasted to stay partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions.

Light rain with thunder and lightning may affect one or two areas in these regions.
