Heavy rain expected in Bagmati and 2 other provinces

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rain in several hilly regions of Nepal, with Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces expected to see the most significant rainfall.

Monsoon air continues to influence weather patterns across the country, with a monsoon low-pressure system positioned to the north in the west and to the south in the east.

The weather forecast division reported that much of Nepal will experience partly to mostly cloudy conditions today.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while occasional showers may occur in other regions as well.

As the afternoon progresses, the Department predicts cloud cover across the country, with Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces likely to see light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning.

A few areas in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces may also experience similar weather conditions.

In particular, heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two locations within the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Meanwhile, tonight’s weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in other hilly areas, with occasional light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.

The forecast calls for potential disruptions as monsoon conditions persist, with the Department urging residents to stay alert to changing weather patterns.

Today’s sunrise occurred at 5:52 AM, with sunset expected at 6:10 PM.
