Five injured in Humla jeep accident

HUMLA: Five people were injured in a jeep accident at Chankheli rural municipality in southern part of Humla district today morning.

According to District Police Office, Humla, the jeep with registration no Karnali Pradesh 2001 Cha 0922 traveling to Deuli Bazar from Garkha in Chankheli-2 met with an accident at Gaurisalla under the Mugu road section.

Among the seven people traveling in the jeep including the driver, five are critically injured while the condition of two is reported to be normal, informed Police Inspector Narendra Chand.

Those critically hurt in the accident were Surendra Shahi, 35, and Til Bahadur Shahi, 50, of Chankheli rural municipality, Humla district and Rabin Shahi, 15, and Prithvi Rawat, 40, and Ramesh Malla of Chhayanath municipality-13 in Mugu district.

Similarly, those slightly injured in road mishap were driver of the jeep Mahendra Bikram Shah of Budhinanda municipality-4 in Bajura and Mayadevi Shahi of Chankheli-2.

A team of seven police personnel of Meme Police Station rushed to the accident site for rescue operation immediately after they were notified of the accident, added Inspector Chand.

The jeep fell off some 150 metres while taking a turn at Gaurisalla, police said.
