U-20 SAFF: Maldives playing against Bhutan today



KATHMANDU: The Maldives is set to face Bhutan in today’s match of the U-20 SAFF Men’s Football Championship.

In other news, Nepal has advanced to the semi-finals of the ongoing U-20 SAFF Men’s Football Championship in the capital.

Nepal secured its semi-final spot with one group match remaining after Bangladesh’s 2-0 victory over Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Earlier, Nepal won its opening match against Sri Lanka with a score of 1-0, earning three points in Group ‘A’.

With today’s result, Sri Lanka has been eliminated from the tournament. For Bangladesh, Mirazul Islam and Piyesh Ahmed Nova each scored a goal in their recent win.

Nepal’s final group stage match will be against Bangladesh on August 22.
