Three Madhes-based parties back Oli-led government



KATHMANDU: The Janamat Party, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP), the three Madhes-based political parties in the federal parliament, have announced their support to the KP Sharma Oli-led government meant for addressing the country’s ongoing challenges and maintain political stability.

Talking part in the proposal motion forwarded by Prime Minister KP Oli seeking a vote of confidence in today’s House of Representatives meeting, the leaders of the three parties expressed their support for the new government.

MP Abdul Khan of Janamat Party said the country now has several challenges and the party would give a confidence vote to this government with the expectation that the country’s major challenges will be addressed by this government.

Likewise, Chairman of JSP Nepal Upendra Yadav said the alliance of the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) was the last chance for the political parties for their correction and added that it would be a painful situation and unfortunate for the country if this coalition could not last long.

Also speaking in parliament, lawmaker of LSP Ram Prakash Chaudhary said his party would back this government and asked the government to prioritize rescue and relief operations of the affected communities from floods, inundation, landslides, and other calamities and the tasks of the disaster risk reduction.
