Eight arrested for stealing donation money from Pashupatinath Temple

Arrestees claim they were instructed by trust members



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested eight individuals on charges of stealing donation money from Pashupatinath Temple.

The accused were allegedly involved in the theft while counting the donations.

According to Rewatiraman Adhikari, spokesperson for the Pashupati Area Development Trust, the arrestees include employees of the Trust.

“These individuals were caught stealing money on CCTV footage and are currently being held at Gaushala Police Office for further investigation,” Adhikari stated.

During their statements, the arrestees claimed that they were instructed to steal by certain members of the Trust, Adhikari added.
